The Choice to be Unhappy
In a lecture from 1990,Yogi Bhajan said there are three types of unhappiness. First, we are happy because we are unhappy. In other words, some of us love the drama. We feed on the sympathy of others. We often create unhappy situations consciously or unconsciously to make ourselves happy. Unfortunately, this creates a ripple effect of unhappiness for others. In Yogi Bhajan's words, "We are very expert in it as humans. That is our most creative form, to create unhappiness. We are unhappy and we are happy that we are unhappy."
The second one is, we are unhappy because we lack trust. Cynicism and lack of faith in our world, doesn't allow us to see all as one, and be able to attain that most precious gift of an open heart center, TRUST. We have a difficult time accessing our own core identity, let alone trusting that of others.
Third, we are unhappy because we have no idea how beautiful we really are. The biggest pollutant to our auric field is self-doubt. It is like a machete that nicks away at it piece by piece until eventually it crumbles. This defeating behavior never allows us to know the strength or power of our individual beauty.
In order to choose a happy life we must have trust in the Infinite. This trust opens us up to the flow of the Divine; it showers us with blessings. When we trust in the Divine we find gratitude in all that life brings us, good or bad. We choose to take these lessons and find strength in them rather than create weakness. We live and are guided by our grace.
At the close of his lecture, Yogi Bhajan had this to say;
What I am saying to you is that you never know what tomorrow has for you -- except one thing. If it will bring good things, thank God. If it brings bad things, make them good, to thank God. That's God. It's an attitude. It's the only attitude which is divine. The rest is all just philosophy to convince each other: "I know better than you. You know better than me." It doesn't work.
Tomorrow there can be only two things. Either tomorrow will be worst or it shall be best. If perchance it is best, thank profusely and very diligently the Almighty God for giving you one good tomorrow. But if it comes worst, thank very dearly for God allowing you to accept the challenge and make it good. If you start with that intention, your life shall NEVER be unhappy.
Blessings and Love,
Jessamy

Blog Resurrection
Sat Nam,
The blog is back!
I started this blog three years ago as a way to share my love and passion for Kundalini Yoga and the teachings of Yogi Bhajan. Needless to say, it has been severely neglected for the past two years. Facebook, Twitter, and a new studio came along, and it got harder and harder for me to maintain my blog. Lately my teacher Harijiwan's words have been hard to ignore,"Keep writing, Jessamy," he said when I first started this blog.
Well, today is a Resurrection day for Shuniya. I am recommitting myself to writing. I hope that through my blog I can continue to share with all who will listen (or read)!
So stay tuned...more to follow!
Blessings and Love,
Jessamy
